Lasallian Pag-asa ("Lasallian Hope") seeks to provide resources for those who would like to better understand the world of "children in conflict with the law," especially in the Philippines. We also work to assist the Lasallian Bahay Pag-asa Youth Centers in their ministry on behalf of these young people. Br. Dan Fenton is currently residing and working at Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center in Bacolod, Philippines. Contact him at brdanfenton@hotmail.com.

Phantoms in the Philippines!
Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center is all into Phantom
Pride! In this photo are Alex Toruno and James Esparza - both CHS
grads. We have two more Phantom grads hoping to go this summer - Albert
Ahedo and Franklin Munoz. But they need some help with airfare. If
you would like to help send a Phantom to the Philippines to do some
great volunteer work, you can send donations directly as a check to Br.
Dan Fenton (1263 Bishops Road, Cathedral High School, Los Angeles,
90012) or through De La Salle Institute,
4401 Redwood Road, Napa, CA 94558-9708. (Please direct any checks sent
to Napa to Julie Hosford and note on the check that the donation is for
Br. Dan’s Philippine Volunteers, 2014. You may specify that your
donation goes to Albert (now studying at Pasadena Community College) or
Franklin (now at UC Santa Cruz). If you know them personally, you can
also just send them your gift. The kids at Bahay Pag-asa are really
hoping to see them this summer!

Look closely...
Can you find the Bahay Pag-asa residents in
this photo? It's not easy...and that's good news. Lasallian education,
at its heart, is about helping young people who find themselves at the
margins of society to take their rightful place, become happy and
productive citizens, and faith-filled builders of the kingdom of God.
Bahay Pag-asa is part of that greater Lasallian education and the boys
of Pag-asa are finding that they fit right in!
This is what hope looks like!
Here's what hope looks like...Congratulations
to Jeron, Jairish and Filmar for completing the lifeskills program in
Commercial Cooking NCII at the University of Saint La Salle, Bacolod.
Blessings on the De La Salle Brothers, the staff of Bahay Pag-asa Youth
Center and the University of Saint La Salle for all your efforts on
behalf of these promising young people. To all our Lasallian Pag-asa friends:
Help us support continuing education for Bahay Pag-asa residents and
make hope happen!

Our ground transportation options are opening up!
Thanks to the Cathedral High School Academic Boosters and to CHS alumnus Ignacio Gonzalez for sending generous donations in for our volunteer air fare. We have reached 20% of our air fare goal (for our 4 volunteers) and so we have quite a ways to go, but we are confident that God (through out friends) will provide. Donations may be sent directly
as a check to Br. Dan Fenton (1263 Bishops Road, Cathedral High School,
Los Angeles, 90012) or through De La Salle Institute, 4401 Redwood
Road, Napa, CA 94558-9708. (Please direct any checks sent to Napa to
Julie Hosford and note on the check that the donation is for Br. Dan’s
Philippine Volunteers, 2014. You may specify that your donation goes to
a particular volunteer: Hermes Ruiz, Albert Ahedo, Valerie Purcell, or
Franklin Munoz. Blessings and thanks!

We're trying to keep our ground transportation costs to a minimum...
In fact, this was our vehicle for one trip last summer....but we still need lots of donors to help us fly
our volunteers to the Philippines. (Several have said that they are not
good swimmers.) Thanks to the Novitiate Community in Napa, Br. Martin
Yribarren at Saint Mary's College of California, Br. Steven Vasoli at
Centro La Salle, Tijuana, Mexico, and Br. Michael Saggau at De La Salle
High School in Concord for their generous donations. Donations may be
sent directly as a check to Br. Dan
Fenton (1263 Bishops Road, Cathedral High School, Los Angeles, 90012) or
through De La Salle Institute, 4401 Redwood Road, Napa, CA 94558-9708.
(Please direct any checks sent to Napa to Julie Hosford and note on the
check that the donation is for Br. Dan’s Philippine Volunteers, 2014.
